Try re-adding the folder to Sync, re-indexing this folder may be required. On Mac, the max allowed character length is 1024 bytes, while on Windows and Linux it’s 255 bytes. Check if the file names have any special symbols and check that the files are in UTF-8, the encoding that Sync understands. Syncing between different system encoding. Recheck system permissions - the user who runs Sync must have rw access to the files and the directory itself. Downloading peer does not have read-write access to the files. Enable option "Overwrite any changed" in share preferences on RO peer. Destination peer has Read-Only access to the share and files have changed there. Go to the files and make sure that they are not being used by other applications, security software, encryption tools or the system itself. Files are locked/protected by other applications. Side effect is that file bundles (like Pages, Keynote files, OS X apps and alike) will be synced as subdirectories (which they actually are). You can disable syncing of xattrs through StreamsList. Sometimes these cannot be synced especially in a mix of operating systems and different OS X versions. If you see files with names starting with 'com.apple.', these are xattrs (extended attributes). These are OS X files' extended attributes Otherwise, some peers might be willing to sync the files that other peers ignore. Ignore list must be the same on all peers so that they all agree on what shall be skipped. Check the files' availability and see the most common reasons for the problem below: Right click on a share and open peers list and check if any files are in queue for upload or download. Inspect the files mentioned in the warning - the reason for failure to sync them is mentioned in the warning.Ĭheck Sync History for any errors about the files syncing. Click on that - most of them link to explanation in KB. If peers are connected but still not all files are synced, please inspect Sync UI a bit for any possible hints.Ĭheck the Status column for any warnings or errors. If that's the case, you may need follow these steps to get your peers communicating. To do it, enable column "Peers" in UI and click the "X of Y peers" link, where X is the number of online peer, Y - is the number of peers that have ever been connected to the share. We recommend to restart Sync if you want to apply changes in the IgnoreList immediately. If you find that Sync has stopped synchronizing and not all of the files are synced, there are a few things you can do.įirst of all, check if peers are still connected. Sync re-reads IgnoreList every time it is changed or (if system notifications are not coming for some reason) every folder_rescan_interval. It means that if you create or edit your IgnoreList file after the directory was added to Sync, the folder structure will always be fully synced, however, actual files / folders added to the ignore list will not be passed to other peers. Timings and delays Once Sync has scanned and indexed the directory tree of a sync folder, all the structural info is going to be stored in its database and always passed to other peers (until you disconnect the sync folder). It will not work with files that have already been synced. Note: the IgnoreList is applied to the folder where it is contained and its subfolders. So please do not forget to use “/“ for Mac and unix-based OSes, while for Windows OSes use “\”. When composing a filter consisting of 2 or more components, note that path delimiters are OS-dependent and not universal. For example, a/**/bįilter will ignore folders a/b, a/x/b, a/x/y/b and so on. \FOO //will not be synced, ignored by FOO\*ĭouble asterisk allows to ignore any amount of subfolders between root folder and target folder. With the above mentioned ignore lines, the following folder structure will behave this way \ABC //wil be syncedĬDE F //will not be synced, ignored by ABC\CDE Fįilename.pdf //will not be synced, ignored by *.pdf Important: on UNIX-based systems use "/" as a path separator.
